As such, he kicks Parker out of the company as well. Later Zuckerberg realizes the mistake he had in putting his trust in Parker, when Parker is caught using drugs. Saverin promises to come for revenge and leaves. Parker and Zuckerberg backstab Saverin by diluting his shares from 34% to 0.03% and removing his co-founder status. Saverin is reluctant to put his faith in Parker and confronts him by freezing the assets. This catches the attention of Napster creator, Sean Parker, who quickly forms a friendship with Zuckerberg and convinces him to become a part of the Facebook team. Meanwhile, Thefacebook is becoming increasingly popular and soon extends to other elite universities, including Yale and Stanford, and later to Europe, reaching Oxford and Cambridge. The Winklevoss twins eventually find out and are furious with Zuckerberg’s manipulation, and so try to take him down. Zuckerberg steals their idea partially by coming up with his own version called Thefacebook, which he uses his friend, Saverin’s, money to invest in creating it. Nonetheless, the Winklevoss twins are intrigued by Zuckerberg and approach him to develop their own website, Harvard Connection, which exclusively connects Harvard students as a dating website. This becomes highly popular among the students, but eventually results in Zuckerberg being put on an academic probation. He then takes it a step further by making a website, Facesmash, which allows Harvard’s male students to rate the female students according to attractiveness. He is dumped by her for his arrogant behavior, which he responds to in a callous way by writing a less than pleasant entry about her on his LiveJournal. The movie starts off with Zuckerberg, a Harvard university freshman, on a date with his girlfriend Erica.
